Gender and Generations Work-Life: What are Best Practices and Biggest Challenges?

On Thursday, April 19, 2012, the Gender Equality Principles Initiative hosted a roundtable aimed at bringing together a range of recent research and practices to identify the most important trends in gender and generational management regarding work-life practices. The roundtable:

  • Higlighted what companies and organizations are doing to leverage gender and generational diversity;
  • Informed organizations about how to incorporate gender and generational diversity as components of existing initiatives; and
  • Recognized tools and best practices in these areas.

A panel of experts was moderated by Brian Maxwell, HR Senior Manager & West Region Talent Leader for Deloitte Services. The panel included Christie Smith, Consulting Principal and the West Region Leader of Diversity and Inclusion and Women' s Initiatives at Deloitte Consulting LLP; Patricia K. Gillette, Partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP Employment Law Group and founder of the Opt-In Project; Marily Mondejar, Senior Business Leader & President at the Filipina Women's Network and the Friends of the Commission on the Status of Women; and Ann Lehman, Policy Director for the San Francisco Department on the Status of Women.
